It's dangerous to have so much demand with so little talent to fill the space. In the short term we're focusing on recruiting talent from other technologies, but it's not a great long term strategy. We all need to remain ahead of the curve and, as you put so accurately, make a big bet or two.John Trupianohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15028520303674964427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-581197352358126527.post-80614237444734243462010-10-28T22:20:28.152-07:002010-10-28T22:20:28.152-07:00Hi....If u guys wanna learn Ruby on Rails then lea...Hi....If u guys wanna learn Ruby on Rails then learn it online for an affordable rate.
For more info mail me at
info@meghanait.comMeghana IT Solutionshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16701622206464341259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-581197352358126527.post-32856799483584366482010-10-28T14:16:32.568-07:002010-10-28T14:16:32.568-07:00Agreed on the not-yet-mainstream languages. I plan to hedge my node.js bet with Erlang (I'm shying away from anything JVM based).

The differentiation part is possible, but I think the "something newer" is more fun and probably easier :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00135361916531185929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-581197352358126527.post-67610901173775776872010-10-28T12:39:04.789-07:002010-10-28T12:39:04.789-07:00Funny, that's exactly what I've been preac...Funny, that's exactly what I've been preaching to people around me lately. Not so much the differentiation part, as much as the "it's time to move to something newer" part.

NodeJS is definitively the front-runner in the "something newer" department, but there are others, as well. Also, learning not-yet-mainstream languages like Haskell, Clojure, Erlang, is also a way to keep ahead of the commodity market.Srdjanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02176281216135653811noreply@blogger.com
